REDWOOD CITY, CA (May 17, 2024) — One person died in a multi-car accident on the 280 Freeway near Edgewood Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal multi-car crash happened around 10:07 p.m. Tuesday. For an unknown reason, a GMC stalled in the No. 3 southbound lane. Subsequently, two drivers who witnessed the vehicle pulled over to the right shoulder to help. However, a BMW traveling in the third lane at an unknown speed struck the stalled vehicle and one of the vehicles that pulled over.
Minutes later, paramedics arrived and took two people to a hospital for major injuries and confirmed one person dead at the scene.
Authorities did not identify the fatal victim or announce the leading factor of the crash. However, they will look into this crash to identify the details.
