MONROE, Ohio (WXIX) - A man standing outside a stopped vehicle on Interstate 75 was hit by a semi and a truck on Tuesday, June 25.
Damone Maston, 21, died at the scene of the crash, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Around 3 a.m. on the northbound lanes of I-75 in Liberty Township, troopers say a 2013 Mazda CX-5 stopped in the middle lanes of the roadway for an unknown reason.
Two people, one of whom being Maston, then got out of the stopped car, OSP explained.
The 21-year-old from Dayton was hit by an oncoming Kenworth semi, according to troopers. Maston was then hit by a 2021 International truck, OSP added.
The other occupant from the Mazda was taken to Atrium Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is still investigating.
