GRUNDY CENTER, IA, (July 18, 2024) - Multiple people were injured in a four-vehicle chain-reaction crash Thursday afternoon near Grundy Center.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 2011 Ford Edge, Chevrolet Colorado and Ford Expedition were stopped on eastbound Highway 175 for road construction at about 4:15 p.m. when the 2011 Edge was hit from behind by a 2010 Ford Edge. That resulted in the 2011 Edge hitting the Chevy, which then struck the Expedition.
Voorhies resident Katherine Marie Dvorak, 62, driver of the 2011 Edge, and passenger Lane Geiger, 14, were transported to Grundy County Hospital with unspecified injuries. Both occupants were wearing a seat belt.
The accident happened about a half-mile east of Grundy Center.
