Man, 19, seriously injured in rear-end crash Wednesday on I-70 in Dickinson County

ABILENE, Kan. (WIBW) - One person was seriously injured in a rear-end crash early Wednesday on Intersate 70 in Dickinson County, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 5:16 a.m. Wednesday on westbound I-70 about a mile and a half west of Fair Road. The location was about 4 miles west of Abilene.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze was stopped in the right lane when it was rear-ended by a 2023 International semitrailer.

The driver of the Chevrolet, Koy E. Mueller, 19, of Herington, was transported to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita with serious injuries. The patrol said Mueller wasn’t wearing his seat belt.

The driver of the semi, Travis P. Williams, 32, of Wellington, was reported uninjured. The patrol said Williams was wearing his seat belt.
