A Connecticut man working on a truck parked partially on the shoulder of Route 132 in Woodbury was seriously injured when he was hit by an oncoming car, pinning him between the two vehicles on Wednesday afternoon.
Around 12:23 p.m. on Wednesday, a Volvo VHD truck was parked in the southbound lane, partially on the shoulder, of Route 132 (Bethlehem Road) right before Noonewaug Road in Woodbury. According to the Connecticut State Police, a 25-year man from Prospect was working at the rear bed portion of the truck when a Jeep Wrangler traveling south on Route 132 struck the man as it hit the rear of the truck, pinning him between the two vehicles.
The man was extricated and transported to Waterbury Hospital by Woodbury EMS with serious injuries, state police said.
The Jeep driver, a 32-year-old woman from Bethlehem, was also transported to Waterbury Hospital was suspected minor injures, according to state police.
The crash remains under investigation, state police said.
