SAN ANTONIO — A man was killed in an accident at Loop 410 on the east side Wednesay morning.
Emergency crews were called out to southbound Loop 410 and East Houston Street around 10:42 a.m. Police say a man with a trailor lost his load and pulled off to the side of the highway. While he was trying to recover the lost load, the driver of an 18-wheeler did not see him and ran him over.
Police say the man in his mid-50s died from his injuries. The driver of the 18-wheeler did stop to render aid and is not facing charges at this time.
Traffic is being diverted off Loop 410 onto the access road while crews work to investigate the accident. The southbound lanes could be closed for a few hours.
