Some people have been identified in a deadly two-vehicle crash in Fond du Lac County yesterday (January 23rd).
After getting a call reporting a crash, the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office was called to Interstate 41 southbound near Winnebago Street in the Town of Freedom.
Preliminary investigations show that a southbound vehicle has pulled over on the median side of the interstate.
After some people exited the car, a second vehicle then hit the first vehicle, and during the collision, a passenger who was outside of the car was hit and died at the scene.
WBAY reports that the victim who died was a 14-year-old boy, although his name was not provided.
The stopped vehicle’s driver was 59-year-old Glenn Wheaton of Detroit, and the passenger was Desmond Wilson, also from Detroit.
I-41 was closed for 4.5 hours while sheriff’s deputies were investigating.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Wisconsin State Patrol, North Fond du Lac Police, North Fond du Lac Fire, Van Dyne Fire, City of Fond du Lac Police, and the Fond du Lac County Medical Examiner’s Office.
