Car rear-ended early Monday after running out of gas on I-70

BONNER SPRINGS, Kan. (WIBW) - A car was rear-ended late Sunday after it ran out of gas on Interstate 70 in Wyandotte County, officials said.

The incident was reported at 11:10 p.m. Sunday on westbound Interstate 70 on the north edge of Bonner Springs.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2018 Chevrolet Trax was stopped on the roadway after it ran out of fuel and was struck from behind by

The driver of the Trax, Natalie Drybread Santana, 42, of Gardner, was transported to the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kan., with suspected minor injuries. The patrol said Santana was wearing her seat belt.

The driver of the Nissan, Jaden Hall, 20, of Lawrence, had suspected minor injuries, but there was no record of him being taken to the hospital.

The patrol said both drivers, who were alone in their cars, were wearing their seat belts.
