Cumberland County hit-and-run crash leaves Harrisburg man injured

A hit-and-run crash along an icy section of Route 15 in Cumberland County sent a Harrisburg man to the hospital Friday night, police said.

Upper Allen Police were dispatched to the on-ramp from West Lisburn Road to Route 15 North around 8:38 p.m. for the incident. Officers determined a Jeep Renegade became disabled on the shoulder and the driver of the Jeep stepped outside to inspect the car.

While the driver was outside of the Jeep, a Lincoln Town Car lost control and struck the man and the disabled vehicle. The police report did not include the severity of the victim’s injuries, but noted he was taken to the hospital.

The driver of the Lincoln did not stop and left the area, police said. The suspect has been identified, but their name has not been released as of Saturday. It is unclear if charges have been filed.

Additional information regarding the hit-and-run will be released at a later date, according to police.
