Amarillo, TX (October 12, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash on the southbound side of Interstate 27 near Rockwell Rd on Friday night left one person injured and caused significant traffic delays, according to local authorities. Paramedics and other first responders provided assistance at the scene and transported one individual to a nearby hospital with reported minor injuries.
The incident occurred around 8:45 p.m. when a disabled vehicle had come to a stop on the shoulder of I-27. A second motorist pulled over to assist the disabled driver when a recreational vehicle traveling southbound collided with both stopped vehicles, setting off a chain-reaction crash involving a total of four vehicles.
First responders quickly arrived to assess the scene and provide care to those involved. Fortunately, only one person required transport to a hospital, and their injuries were considered non-life-threatening. Traffic on southbound I-27 was backed up for more than an hour while crews worked to clear the wreckage and investigate the cause of the accident.
Law enforcement officials are continuing to review the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine whether any additional contributing factors were involved.
