DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – There was a three-vehicle minor injury crash early Tuesday morning in Miami County.
According to the Piqua Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, troopers were dispatched to I-75 near milepost 68 in Monroe Twp. at approximately 5:50 a.m.
The initial investigation found a 2023 Freightliner tractor-trailer combination, driven by a 24-year-old young man from Greensboro, N.C., was heading north on I-75.
Officials said the Freightliner went off the right side of the road and hit an unoccupied parked disabled vehicle on the right shoulder, a 2007 Chrysler Sebring.
After hitting the Chrysler, the Freightliner continued and hit the Exit 68 overpass bridge abutment.
The Freightliner then continued up the Exit 68 on-ramp to I-75 and hit a parked 2017 Volvo tractor-trailer combination, occupied by a 57-year-old man from Sterling Heights, Mich.
The 24-year-old was treated on scene for minor injuries.
Officials found him at fault and cited him for Failure to Maintain Reasonable Control of a Motor Vehicle.
The crash is under active investigation by the Piqua Post.
