SAGINAW TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJRT) - Police say a chain-reaction crash behind a school bus in Saginaw Township on Wednesday is part of an alarming trend of bad driving around bus stops this fall.
The crash on Midland Road near Hospital Road involved three vehicles around 3:30 p.m. The bus was stopped in the right lane with its lights flashing and a stop board extended to drop off students and two vehicles stopped behind it.
The Saginaw Township Police Department says the driver of a small pickup truck failed to stop and slammed into the back a vehicle, which propelled it into an SUV stopped in front of it.
The school bus was not hit and no students were injured.
An ambulance transported the driver of the at-fault vehicle to an area hospital, where their condition was not available Thursday morning. Three people from one of the other vehicles sought medical attention for minor injuries.
The Saginaw Township Police Department will continue investigating the crash.
