DENVER (KDVR) — A woman was hit and killed on the shoulder of the road while checking on the driver of another vehicle, according to a statement made to FOX31 on Sunday evening from Colorado State Patrol.
The incident occurred sometime around 5:34 a.m. on Saturday.
CSP said that there was a deadly crash that involved a pedestrian and vehicle on Interstate 25 near Milepost 243 in unincorporated Weld County.
A 26-year-old woman was checking on the driver of another vehicle on the right side of I-25, when a Honda Accord traveling northbound in the acceleration lane from Highway 66 to I-25, swerved onto the fog line to avoid the other vehicle, and hit the pedestrian.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Accord was a 64-year-old man. He did not sustain any injuries.
