On November 5, 2025, a deadly chain-reaction crash occurred on Interstate 49 near Highway 177 in DeSoto Parish, Louisiana, after an 18-wheeler overturned in heavy fog. According to the Louisiana State Police (LSP), the initial rollover caused a series of subsequent collisions along the interstate.
Troopers identified the victim as being from Natchitoches, who was driving a Ford F-350 pickup when he struck a parked tractor-trailer on the roadway. The driver suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities said the truck driver involved in the original rollover crash escaped serious harm, and all lanes were temporarily closed as emergency crews worked to remove debris and restore traffic flow.
