On Wednesday, November 5, 2025, a devastating collision on U.S. 87 about ten miles south of Dalhart, Texas, took the lives of four people, including a teenager. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a southbound Nissan Altima traveling at a slow speed due to a flat tire was rear-ended by a semi-truck whose driver “failed to control speed.” The Altima’s driver and three passengers were pronounced dead at the scene; the truck driver was transported with non-life-threatening injuries.
