Person struck, killed on shoulder of I-94 north in Racine County

RACINE COUNTY, Wis. — One person is dead after being struck by a vehicle on the shoulder of Interstate 94 north in Racine County on Nov. 8, according to the Racine County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were dispatched to I-94 north at mile marker 328.6 between Highway K and Highway G just before 11 a.m., the sheriff’s office said.

The person and their vehicle were parked on the shoulder of the interstate. That person was outside of their vehicle when a passing vehicle struck them and killed them instantly the sheriff’s office said.

WISN 12 News has asked the Racine County Sheriff’s Office if they’re looking for the driver of the striking vehicle, or if anyone has been taken into custody, but have not received a response as of Saturday afternoon.

All northbound traffic on I-94 was diverted off the interstate at Highway K and was allowed to re-enter at Highway G. The northbound lanes on I-94 were closed until around 4 p.m. as the Sheriff’s Major Crash Assistance Team investigated the incident.

I-94 south has been fully reopened.
