St. Charles Co, MO (November 5, 2025) – An early morning crash on westbound Interstate 70, just west of Mid Rivers Mall Dr, resulted in injuries to both a driver and a pedestrian on Wednesday. The incident occurred around 5:45 AM and involved a previously disabled vehicle stopped partially in the travel lane.
First responders from the St. Charles County Ambulance District transported a 42-year-old pedestrian from Cottage Hills, IL, and a 61-year-old driver from St. Louis to Mercy Hospital St. Louis. Both suffered injuries during the crash.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision began when a 2018 GMC Sierra, traveling westbound, approached the site of an earlier incident. A 2014 Ford Fiesta had been left disabled, facing south and partially obstructing the left travel lane and shoulder. The Sierra’s driver slowed down due to the obstruction and veered off the roadway, striking the Fiesta with the front right corner of his truck.
The impact caused the Fiesta to rotate and strike a pedestrian at the scene. Both vehicles were totaled and towed by Superior Towing. It remains unclear whether the injured pedestrian was affiliated with the prior crash or assisting at the scene.
Authorities are continuing their investigation. No citations have been issued at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured individuals, and we wish them a full recovery.
