BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBMA) — An 18-year-old St. Clair County man died early Saturday morning after his disabled vehicle was struck on Interstate 20, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.
The victim has been identified as Jagger Thorne Cox, of Ragland.
Cox was the driver and only occupant of a vehicle that had become disabled on I-20 West near mile marker 131, close to Brussels Road and Georgia Road. Authorities say the crash happened around 4:15 a.m. on November 22.
According to the coroner, Cox was standing outside his vehicle when another vehicle collided with it, causing injuries that proved fatal. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:28 a.m..
