Police: Disabled Vehicle Struck by Driver on Interstate 80

RICHLAND TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Pennsylvania State Police in Clarion recently responded to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 westbound in Richland Township, Clarion County.

According to state police, the crash occurred on December 16 at approximately 8:40 p.m. near mile marker 49.

Troopers said a 2020 Kenworth was stopped and disabled along the right shoulder of the highway when it was struck by a 2025 Freightliner operated by Milan Jovanovic, 30, of New York, New York, which was traveling westbound in the right-hand lane.

Police said Jovanovic failed to move over or maintain lane position, causing the Freightliner to strike the disabled vehicle. The impact caused disabling damage to both vehicles.

Jovanovic was wearing a seat belt and was not injured, police noted.

The occupants of the disabled vehicle — Eldar Samedinov, 47, of North Royalton, Ohio, and Ievgenii Prylipko, 36, of Valley Village, California — were transported to Clarion Hospital for evaluation. Both were reported to be uninjured.

Both vehicles required towing from the scene.

Troopers cited Jovanovic for a traffic violation related to lane usage.

Assisting at the scene were Hovis Towing, PennDOT, the Emlenton Fire Department, and Emlenton Area Ambulance Service.
