2 seriously injured in crash on I-95 in Foxboro

FOXBORO, Mass. (WPRI) — Two people were taken to the hospital Tuesday night after a serious three-car crash on I-95 North in Foxboro.

Massachusetts State Police, along with Foxboro fire and EMS, responded to the scene near mile marker 13.3 just before 10 p.m.

Police said the preliminary investigation indicated that an Audi sedan experienced car trouble on the highway. As the car slowed down and the driver called 911 for help, a Tesla crashed into its rear end.

A Ford pickup truck then hit the Tesla, according to police.

The Tesla driver, a woman in her 40s, suffered life-threatening injuries, while the pickup truck driver, a man in his 30s, was seriously injured. Police said both were taken to a Boston-area hospital for emergency treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
