Driver of disabled van struck, seriously hurt on U.S. 52 in Clermont County

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, CLERMONT COUNTY, Ohio (WXIX) - A motorist standing outside his disabled vehicle on U.S. 52 was struck by a large Ford pickup truck and seriously hurt early Thursday, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

It was reported around 5 a.m., closing U.S. 52 for more than three hours near Grant’s Run Road.

The 31-year-old driver of a GMC Savana cargo van was flown to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with serious but not critical injuries, Sgt. Nathan Pabin said.

The 28-year-old driver of the pickup truck was not hurt, he said.

He is from out of state, from Georgia, according to OSP.

The driver of the van is from the Clermont County village of Neville, Sgt. Pabin said.

The crash remains under investigation.

U.S. 52 was shut down for a few hours.
