3 hurt in Warwick highway crash

WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — Three people were hurt in a crash on I-95 that caused delays in Warwick Monday morning.

Rhode Island State Police said just before 10 a.m., a Jeep was driving south near Exit 27B when it veered off the road and hit a parked tractor-trailer.

The Jeep ended up in the center lane and was then struck by another car.

The driver of the Jeep was brought to Rhode Island Hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries, according to police. Her 3-year-old child was taken to Hasbro Children’s Hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the second car also had minor injuries, state police said.

The scene has been cleared, and the crash remains under investigation.
