LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — State police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run on an interstate in Luzerne County.
The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Eastbound lanes of I-80 in Butler Township near Conyngham. Following the crash, part of the interstate was shut down for hours and reopened around 4:30 p.m.
According to state police, an investigation revealed that the victim, a 53-year-old man from Hartford, Connecticut, was outside of his disabled vehicle when he was struck by a second commercial vehicle passing his location.
He was flown to the hospital Geisinger Wyoming Valley, where he died.
