VACAVILLE, Calif. — A man was killed in a crash on eastbound Interstate 80 in Vacaville on Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP said, for unknown reasons, the man was in a stopped Mazda that was blocking a lane on the highway near Leisure Town Road when an 18-wheeler crashed into the stopped car.
Officials identified the driver of the Mazda as a 58-year-old man from Stockton but haven’t released his name yet.
The crash is under investigation.
The semi-truck driver is a 59-year-old man from Pacifica, who has remained on scene and is cooperating with law enforcement, the CHP said.
