Man hit by vehicle in crash on Highway 30, Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office says

KEARENY, Neb. (KSNB) - The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a car–pedestrian crash on Monday that injured a 20-year-old man on U.S. Highway 30. The crash happened nine miles west of Kearney at 4:30 p.m.

According to the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office, a driver had stopped to render aid after another vehicle with a trailer broke down on the side of the highway. An occupant of that vehicle, a 20-year-old Holdrege Man, stopped to help and was struck by a another vehicle driven by a 64-year-old woman from Elm Creek. This all happened on the westbound side of the roadway.

The injured man was transported from the scene by LifeNet helicopter to CHI-GSH hospital in Kearney, the sheriff’s office said.
