San Diego, CA (May 10, 2025) – An accident occurred Friday night on the southbound side of the 805 Freeway near Clairemont Mesa Blvd, resulting in injuries to a pedestrian following a hit-and-run incident. The crash was reported at approximately 9:09 p.m., drawing an immediate response from the California Highway Patrol and San Diego Fire-Rescue personnel.
First responders, including paramedics, assessed and treated the injured individual at the scene. According to reports, the pedestrian had exited a vehicle that had pulled over to assist a stranded motorist when they were struck by another vehicle. The driver of the striking vehicle fled the scene without stopping.
The pedestrian was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital for evaluation and treatment of injuries including pain to the right leg and left rib. Authorities located two vehicles—a black Dodge Charger and a white Dodge Charger—stopped on the freeway shoulder, believed to be involved in the incident. The investigation is ongoing, and officials have not yet released information regarding the suspect vehicle.
