Detroit, MI - Man Struck While Standing Outside Disabled Mustang on I-94

Detroit, MI (June 15, 2025) – Early Saturday morning, a serious incident unfolded on Interstate 94 East near Grand Boulevard in Detroit. At around 2:50 a.m. on June 14, a 29-year-old Ferndale man was struck while standing behind his disabled vehicle in the roadway.

Authorities with the Michigan State Police reportedly stated the man lost control of his Ford Mustang, which ended up blocking the left lane. After exiting the car, he stood near the trunk. During that time, a 39-year-old woman from Ferndale driving a Ford Fusion struck him.

The impact was so intense that the individual was thrown across the median wall, landing on the left shoulder of the freeway. Emergency medical personnel transported the man to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the Fusion, who remained on the scene, was uninjured.

Police said that neither of the drivers involved in the collision held a valid driver’s license. Investigators are continuing to look into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
