St. Louis, MO (June 25, 2025) – A complex chain-reaction crash late Tuesday night on southbound Interstate 270 left one driver injured and caused significant damage to multiple vehicles. The incident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. just south of MO-21, prompting a swift response from area law enforcement and fire services.
According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash began when a 2008 Honda Civic became disabled in the far-left lane (Lane #1). An 18-year-old woman from Barnhart, MO, driving a 2023 Acura TLX, was unable to avoid the stalled vehicle and struck it in the rear-right side. The impact caused her vehicle to lose control, skidding across all lanes before coming to a stop on the shoulder.
Debris from the initial collision then struck a second 2023 Acura TLX, driven by a 47-year-old woman from St. Louis, who swerved across several lanes to avoid further impact. In the process, her vehicle collided with a third car—a 2008 Honda Civic operated by a 43-year-old man from Independence, MO—which subsequently veered off the road and into a ditch.
The 47-year-old female driver was treated for minor injuries and transported to Mercy South Hospital by Mehlville Fire Protection District paramedics. All other drivers involved were reportedly restrained and not transported. Multiple vehicles sustained moderate to extensive damage and were removed from the scene by Miner’s Towing.
Troopers continue to investigate the series of events that led to the pileup. Traffic was disrupted in all lanes for an extended period while emergency crews cleared the scene. We extend our well-wishes to the injured individual for a smooth and full recovery.
