FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — One person was killed and another person was injured after a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 95 in Florence County, the South Carolina Highway Patrol said.
It happened at about 4:20 a.m. Friday at mile marker 152, Cpl. David Jones said. A 2003 Honda Civic was disabled on the shoulder when it was hit by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene.
That vehicle, a 2006 Chrysler 300 four-door, hit the Civic after traveling off the right side of the road, Jones said. After hitting the Civic, the driver fled on foot.
The driver of the Civic died at the scene, while the passenger was transported to an area hospital, according to Jones. Their condition was not immediately available.
