Five vehicles involved in crash on Route 18 in Hermitage

HERMITAGE, Pa. - Despite heavy damage to one of the vehicles, Hermitage police say all people involved in a five-car crash on Wednesday walked away from the incident with minor injuries.

The incident happened around 7 p.m. on Wednesday near the intersection of State Route 18 and Thomason Road.

According to officials, the incident began with a crash between two vehicles.

One vehicle was attempting to pull out of a driveway along State Route 18 before allegedly being struck by another vehicle traveling along the road. The twto o vehicles attempted to stop to assess the situation.

Then, a third vehicle traveling along State Route 18 saw the two stopped vehicles in front of them and attempted to slow down.

A fourth vehicle also traveling along State Route 18, according to officials, allegedly did not see the third vehicle stopping in front of them and crashed into the rear of the vehicle.

Additionally, a fifth vehicle traveling the same road allegedly failed to stop, crashing into the rear of the fourth vehicle.

Minor injuries were reported in this incident, but it is unknown if anyone was taken to the hospital.
