Huron Twp, OH – 20-Year-Old Ejected, Seriously Injured in SR-2 Crash

Huron Twp, OH (July 28, 2025) – A 20-year-old man was seriously injured after being ejected from his disabled vehicle during a crash early Sunday morning along State Route 2, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP).

The incident occurred during the early hours of July 27. Investigators say a 29-year-old man was driving a minivan eastbound on SR-2 when, for reasons still under investigation, he left the marked lanes and veered onto the berm. There, the minivan collided with the rear of a broken-down car that was parked along the shoulder.

Following the impact, both vehicles left the roadway and overturned. The driver of the broken-down vehicle, a 20-year-old man from Huron, was ejected during the crash and sustained severe injuries. He was airlifted to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland for emergency treatment. His current condition remains unknown.

The minivan driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured in the crash. Authorities have not yet announced any charges in connection with the incident, and the case remains under active investigation.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and his family, and we hope for his full recovery.
