A multi-vehicle collision killed one person on Highway 3 in Silverdale Wednesday afternoon, Washington State Patrol confirmed.
WSP Public Information Officer Katherine Weatherwax said that a truck was merging onto Highway 3 from Newberry and struck a 21-year-old Belfair woman, who was the driver of a disabled vehicle on the side of the highway’s on ramp. She was standing outside talking to a passenger. A second car was also pulled over. The truck, driven by a 64-year-old man from Sammamish, struck both the cars.
Tows arrived at the scene around 2 p.m. and both lanes were expected to be open soon after.
In a brief statement around noon on Wednesday, WSP said northbound lanes at the Newberry Hill exit were partially blocked as troopers investigate the scene of the crash that involved three vehicles.
