Vehicle smashes into State Patrol vehicle spinning it 75-feet

DULUTH, Min. – A vehicle crashed into a Minnesota State Patrol vehicle on Highway 53, spinning it 75-feet from the impact site.

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash that happened just after 11am on Monday, July 28, 2025.

They’re reporting the Trooper’s vehicle was struck by another motorist while the trooper was temporarily stopping traffic.

The Trooper was using his fully marked patrol vehicle and emergency lights activated.

The vehicle crashed into the Trooper’s vehicle at highway speeds.

Both driver’s sustained minor injuries.

The initial report did not say what type of vehicle hit the Trooper.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the Trooper was cited for Failure to Obey an Emergency Vehicle and transported for medical evaluation.

The incident remains under investigation by The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office.
