1 dead after vehicle collides with dump truck in Spartanburg County

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. — The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating after a multi-vehicle crash in Spartanburg County left one person dead on Wednesday.

Just before 6:30 a.m., a crash involving two vehicle occurred near 3060 Highway 101 near Greer, according to the coroner.

Highway Patrol said a disabled dump truck was stopped in the middle of the road when a 1997 GMC truck rear-ended the dump truck.

The driver of the GMC truck died at the scene. The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 55-year-old Rogelio Hernandez-Grijalva of Greer.

The crash remains under investigation.
