GRANBY, N.Y. — A Butler Disposal employee was killed by a vehicle on the job in the Town of Granby, New York State Police announced.
State Police identified the deceased as Alexander M. Snow, 32, of Phoenix, N.Y.
Troopers responded to a report of a crash involving a pedestrian on County Route 14 around 4:21 p.m. on Aug. 11. An investigation determined that a Butler Disposal garbage truck was stopped with its hazard lights facing southbound on the west shoulder of the roadway.
Snow was on the east side of the road and was crossing it to get back to the garbage truck when he was struck by oncoming traffic. The vehicle that struck him was a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze.
State Police noted that the driver of the Cruze attempted to save Snow’s life. Ultimately, Snow was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
