MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police say a man on a motorcycle died Saturday after colliding with a vehicle on Interstate 40 near Warford.
Police say it started with a one-vehicle crash that left a disabled vehicle on the interstate near the Warford exit sometime around 4 a.m.
The woman involved in the car wreck told police that she was in the middle lane and fell asleep at the wheel. She thinks she veered left and struck the wall, veered right and struck the wall on the right side, and somehow ended up back in the middle lane. No injuries were reported.
Around that time, a man on a Yamaha motorcycle was heading eastbound on the interstate when his front tire hit the interior door of the vehicle involved in the crash, police said.
The man on the motorcycle was taken in critical condition to Regional One. He was pronounced dead at 5:45 a.m., police said.
