TRACY, Calif. — One person is dead following a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 205 in Tracy Saturday morning.
The California Highway Patrol said that around 6:05 a.m., officers responded to a three-vehicle crash on eastbound I-205, just east of MacArthur Drive.
The crash involved two tractor-trailer combinations and a Toyota truck, officials said.
For unknown reasons, the Toyota drove from one end of the interstate to the other, toward the right-hand shoulder, where a semi-truck was disabled. The right-side of the Toyota hit the rear of the semi’s trailer.
A passenger in the Toyota was ejected from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries on scene, CHP said.
While the investigation is ongoing, CHP does not believe alcohol or drugs are a factor in the crash.
