Man Fatally Struck By 18-Wheeler On State Highway 114 In Southlake, Texas

A fatal crash on January 10, 2026, shut down westbound lanes of State Highway 114 in Southlake, Texas, after a man was struck by an 18-wheeler while attempting to cross the highway, according to Southlake police.

Authorities said the incident unfolded shortly before 4:00 a.m. in the 1100 block of East State Highway 114 westbound. Investigators believe the pedestrian had been involved in a single-vehicle crash in the same area only minutes earlier. After that initial crash, the man was on foot in or near the roadway and was struck as he tried to cross the westbound lanes.

The man died at the scene. His identity had not been released as of the initial report, pending notification of next of kin. Police also stated that the semi-truck driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. Westbound lanes were later reopened.
