Palm Coast woman dies after hitting disabled car on I-95, FHP says

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — A Palm Coast woman was killed after crashing into a disabled car, which was blocking the left lane on I-95 in Flagler County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

State troopers said it happened just after midnight Monday morning on the northbound side of I-95 near Old Dixie Highway.

They say a 23-year-old woman driving a sports utility vehicle drove off I-95 and hit a guardrail. The car then came to a stop and was disabled in the inside left lane, facing the wrong direction on I-95 (south).

FHP says a 55-year-old woman, also from Palm Coast, was traveling in the area after the first crash and collided with the 23-year-old woman’s car that was stopped in the left lane.

As a result, the 55-year-old woman was killed in the crash. FHP says she was not wearing her seat belt.

Additionally, the 23-year-old woman in the other car was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

FHP says the crash is under investigation.

All of the northbound lanes of I-95 were shut down near Old Dixie Highway overnight but have since reopened.
