WARSAW, Ind. (WSBT) — A Rochester man is dead after being struck by a vehicle on U.S. 30 on Monday night.
According to police, 69-year-old Randy Williams was hit by a truck after getting out of his car on the shoulder of the road.
An investigation indicated that Williams was outside of his vehicle to retrieve fallen cargo from the bed of his pickup truck.
Williams was struck by a tractor-trailer.
His car was parked on the shoulder and not on the travel portion of U.S. 30.
His cause of death was blunt force trauma.
The incident happened on Monday after 6 p.m. in the area of Meijer Dr. and US-30.
The westbound lanes of US-30 were shut down for about two hours.
