Iowa State Patrol vehicle struck while on scene of crash

KELLOGG, Iowa (KCRG) - Iowa State Patrol says nobody was hurt when a semi-truck crashed into one of its vehicles late Sunday night.

According to a post on Facebook, an Iowa State Patrol sergeant was working an incident involving multiple semi-trucks that had crashed on I-80 near Kellogg. While the sergeant was walking back to his patrol vehicle, another semi-truck lost control and crashed into the trooper’s Tahoe.

Photos shared by Iowa State Patrol on social media show damage to the rear of the vehicle.

Iowa State Patrol says the crash resulted in no injuries.

Troopers were busy as snow fell across Iowa from Sunday into Monday morning. Iowa State Patrol says it responded to nearly 100 crashes over a 24 hour period.
