ALBANY, NY (WRGB) — Multiple people were injured after a crash Monday night that involved a tractor trailer and a number of passenger vehicles.
At about 11:09 p.m., State Police responded to the report of a multi car crash on I-90 westbound in the area of exit 6A. The investigation has determined a vehicle traveling westbound on I-90 stopped to assist a disabled vehicle on the left side shoulder.
State Police say that while the driver of the assisting vehicle was out of the vehicle, they were struck by an unknown passing vehicle that did not stop. Other vehicles reacted to witnessing that incident leading to multiple reaction collisions involving one tractor-trailer and eight passenger vehicles.
The pedestrian struck and four others were transported to area hospitals. None of the injuries are believed to be life threatening. The investigation is ongoing.
