A 25-year-old New Jersey man died after the van he was riding in hit a disabled truck on I-295 south in Mercer County on Friday, New Jersey State Police said.
Troopers responded to the crash at 3:31 p.m. near milepost 64.7 in Hamilton Township.
Police said a Dodge Sprinter van was traveling south when it struck the rear of a Mack truck that was parked on the right shoulder.
The front-seat passenger of the van, Daniel H. Carmelo, of the Mount Royal section of East Greenwich Township, died of his injuries, officials said.
The driver of the van suffered minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital, authorities said.
No other injuries were reported.
The crash remains under investigation.
