Tennessee deputy dies after crash with disabled vehicle on Highway 111

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is mourning one of its own following a serious crash on Wednesday.

The sheriff’s office said Deputy Landon Faulkner was involved in a serious crash on Wednesday evening. Faulkner was traveling on Highway 111 when he collided with a disabled vehicle in a travel lane.

Faulkner, 24, was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

The sheriff’s office said Faulkner began working for HCSO in 2022. He also previously served as a deputy and a corrections deputy in Grundy County for almost three years.

Faulkner graduated from the Knoxville Police Department’s Explorer Cadet program in 2017.

“Please join us as we keep the deputy’s family, friends, and colleagues in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time,” the sheriff’s office said in a post.
