Three injured in I-78 tractor trailer crash

GREENWICH TWP., Pa. - Three people were injured in a crash involving two tractor-trailers on I-78.

Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) say it occurred just before 1:30 a.m. Thursday in the eastbound lanes between the Lenhartsville (Route 143) and Kutztown (Route 737) exits.

The crash forced troopers to shut down the roadway until around 4 a.m.

According to PSP, a tractor trailer suffered a mechanical failure and came to a stop in the center lane around mile marker #39.4. The driver put on his four-way flashers and was attempting to restart the truck when it was struck from behind by another tractor trailer.
