WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — The Winston-Salem Police Department is investigating a deadly crash that killed two people in the early hours of Sunday.
At around 1:59 a.m. on Sunday, officers came to the area of US 311 and the Interstate 40 West exit ramp after getting a report of a crash.
Police found 54-year-old Shawn Dereck Arthur and 36-year-old Karen Bibb Arthur dead at the scene.
Investigators say that Shawn and Karen Arthur were inside a 2008 Toyota that was stopped and disabled on the right shoulder of the exit ramp when a person driving a 2013 BMW ran off the road to the right for unknown reasons and struck the Toyota.
The WSPD’s Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating the deadly crash.
