Truck Slams Into Disabled Vehicles On I-684 In Westchester, Causing Injuries

A crash involving multiple vehicles left two people injured and caused traffic disruptions on Interstate 684 in Westchester County on Wednesday, June 3.

The collision happened at around 11:47 a.m. on I-684 northbound near mile marker 15.2 near Exit 5 in Bedford, according to New York State Police.

Investigators said a 2022 Isuzu truck was traveling northbound when it struck two disabled vehicles that were parked on the highway shoulder: a 2009 Freightliner tractor-trailer and a 2011 Honda.

Debris from the Isuzu also struck the trailer of a 2022 Ford pickup truck traveling through the area, police said.

The drivers of the Isuzu and the Freightliner both suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to local hospitals for evaluation.

The crash led to lane closures and traffic delays on Wednesday afternoon on I-684 northbound near Exit 5 for the Saw Mill River Parkway.

No charges or citations were announced.
