Woman dies after vehicle crashes into her disabled car on San Diego roadway

(FOX 5/KUSI) — A woman was killed when a vehicle crashed into the disabled car she was inside of on a San Diego roadway.

San Diego Police said the crash happened shortly after 10 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Fairmount Avenue, near Montezuma Road.

Police said the woman’s car, a Toyota Camry, was in the second lane with its hazard lights on, and that a man had pulled over his Honda Fit in front of the Camry to help.

A third vehicle, a Saab 9-3, was driving southbound in the inside lane behind a slow-moving vehicle when it moved over to the second lane and crashed into the Camry, which then crashed into the Fit.

The woman in the Camry died of her injuries. Police did not advise about the status of the other drivers, but said that DUI was not a factor in the crash.
