DOUGLAS COUNTY, Neb. (WOWT) - Douglas County Authorities have identified the woman killed on West Dodge Road Friday night.
According to a release from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, the woman killed in the crash has been identified as 36-year-old Cheri Blue of Emporia, Kansas.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 10:20 p.m. Friday night around 237th Street and West Dodge Road.
Once on the scene, deputies discovered that Blue had been hit by a vehicle. After life-saving measures were undertaken by deputies, medics declared her dead at the scene.
According to DCSO, Blue was one of three people in a grey Toyota that was parked on the shoulder on the westbound side of the road. Investigators believe she had exited the vehicle and had been arguing with another person. At some point, she ended up in a lane of traffic and was fatally struck.
