Greyhound bus crashes with disabled vehicle, multiple injured

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Multiple people were injured after a bus vs. vehicle crash on Saturday morning.

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office’s Sgt. Jack E. Shaw Jr., the crash happened at approximately 5:40 a.m. on west U.S. 35 at State Route 49.

Officials said a Greyhound bus was heading west on U.S. 35 and crashed into the back of a gray Chrysler Pacifica in the intersection with S.R. 49. The Pacifica had broken down on the road, and the driver was standing outside of it.

2 NEWS was on the scene, officials told us medics took the Pacifica driver to a nearby hospital for minor injuries. Mutiple Greyhound riders were also taken to the hospital for sustained minor injuries and / or evaluations.’

Both 911 calls said a man was lying in the road.

Screaming can be heard throughout the background of the first 911 call. The caller said there was a crash and a man in the road. However, he (the caller) was injured but “not badly.”

The second 911 caller requested police officers and an ambulance. He said a man was injured and lying down in the road.

The crash is under active investigation by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
